Job The dispatcher sets the daily direction of customer deliveries. This high paced and highly collaborative position is responsible for reading orders from our sales team and coordinating the corresponding deliveries in an efficient manner.
Meets and greets contractors and do-it-yourselfers while providing exceptional customer service by overseeing the selection and loading of materials. Ensures that material is accurately pulled and staged for pickup or delivery. Directs delivery schedules and ensures that they are on time and the correct material and quantities were delivered to the correct location.
Responsible for maintaining the inventory in the yard by conducting cycle counts, keeping the yard organized, ensuring the correct material is shipped and received, property management and maintenance. Dispatch customer deliveries and internal transfers within company’s locations via company trucks. Ensures all policies and procedures are followed in the yard, including sales, inventory and safety. Ensures that all equipment is being properly used and maintained. Ensuring that appropriate materials is received by the customers on a timely fashion. Maintaining the stock and presentation or the items in the yard, inventory control, following delivery processes and communicating effectively with staff and superiors.
Identifies personal growth needs, learning opportunities and training needs. Individual must possess in-depth knowledge of safe work practices and ensures procedures are strictly adhered to by yard personnel. Commits to continued learning on products, procedures and more.
Responsible for setting the direction and managing yard personnel and drivers effectively and respectfully communicates with management and employees to ensure goals are outlined for employees and ultimately met in a timely manner.
Responsible for requesting service and repairs for equipment such as tablets, cell phone, as well as for trucks and equipment used in the yard. Ensuring drivers follow and adhere DOT requirements and complete daily driving logs. Ensuring drivers and yard personnel follow company policies and FMCSA requirements by having a current valid CDL from his state of residence, Medical Card and forklift certification.
Reporting workers compensation and auto accidents on time to the appropriate parties. Ensuring yards are kept clean and free or any hazardous conditions.
